The Black Isle is served by a number of local bus services, linking points on the Black Isle to Inverness and Dingwall.
Some years ago, the Black Isle boasted its own light railway, sadly long gone (though the trackway is still identifiable, and parts of it make an enjoyable walk). Now, the nearest stations are at Muir of Ord, Dingwall, and Inverness.
Just across the Moray Firth from the Black Isle is Dalcross Airport, providing links to the Islands, Glasgow, and London.
A two-car ferry still provides a service from Nigg to Cromarty.
